For upward of .tap hour the .geyser played shots to a height of aboiit oOft., and continued ;at short intervals throughout the day, vvith shorter ,displays. , ,-TJp .to -about, two years. ,the Waikite. jSeyser could always be ; relied upon to . visitors -with a .display several times each day, but with the renewal . of -activity of the Pohutu Geyser, Waikite'became inactive and until to-day it had remained so, in. spite of the fact -.that •Pohutu, l .also had been quiet for , many months.Geyser, activity-'at the reserve has been quiet for the last two months, ' although the Papakura Geyser, which re throws boiling: water - and steam up to .' adieight of about 10ft;-, is still playing continuously.
