LONDON, February 9
The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that the Army, Navy, and Air'Commissions of the Chamber of Deputies, in a secret session unprecedentedly heard the Minister for War, M. Edouard Daladier, speak of the armament position. The Minister declared that France was lagging a year behind Italy and
Germany in war material and aeropljan'os, a position which would be unalterable until the 40-hour week was further relaxed. The Minister for the Navy (M. WuTTani Bertrand) said that the Government was building two additional 35,000-ton warships, Unless building was speeded up, the Italian fleet would be superior to the French in 1942.
