BRITAIN HAS FASTEST LONDON, Sept. 20. Britain has the fastest, France the heaviest, and Russia the greatest number of tanks, according to RearAdmiral Sir Murray iSueter’s book, ‘‘The Evolution of the Tank.” “ He lists the tank strength of the leading nations as: (Russia 6000, France and Germany 5000 each, Britain 500, Italy 400. France, he says, lias the world's largest tank —a 74-ton monster, carrying a crew of 14. Britain’s 40-mile-an-hour tanks are the world’s fastest. It was Rear-Admiral Sir Murray Snetor who assisted Captain Bacon to introduce ’ submarines into the British Navy in 1902-3. He created the Royal Naval Air Service, established the first London antiaircraft force, and the Armoured Car Force, and received the thanks of the Army Council for his contribution toward the evolution of the tank. With the late Lieutenant-Commander jjhniglas Hyde-Tlioinson, he invented the torpedo-aeroplane and seaplane.
