EVERYBODY’S THEATRE. TO-NIGHT. TO-NIGHT. “PENNIES FROM HEAVEN.” Columbia’s new Bing Crosby comedy “Pennies From Heaven,” showing tonight at the Princess Theatre, seems to tie another tune-filled treat. America’s most prominent, orchestra leadci, Paul Whiteman, Vincent Lopez” Fred Waring, Sliep Fields, Guy Lombardo, Hal Kemp and Will Osborne have been loud in their praises of the film and its songs. A hew song-writing team, ; Arthur Johnston and John Burke, is responsible for the tunes. the tunes they turned oilt for “Pennies From Hear-. en” are:—“Pennies From Heaven," the title ballad, sung by Crosby to little Edith. Fellows in a haunted house sequence;, “So l)o I,” a love song which runs through the picture, sung by Bing to Madge Evans. “Let’s Call a Heart, a Heart;” a torch ballad, sung by Biri'g to Mifss Evans in a roadside cafe. “One Two, Button Your Shoe” a novelty song in swing-time and march rhythm, sung -by Bing to; .children in ah orphanage,, with the kiddies, joining in. “Skeleton'in the Closet,” a spooky but comic number, introduced bv Louis Armstrong,- the famed trumpet player, who sings , and plays it. .The songs appear to be- set. for. a long stay on the air waves. Also excellent variety of supports! .
