DENIAL OF MEMBERSHIP (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). ATLANTA (Georgia), September 15. Hiram Evans, the “Imperial Wizard,” of Kn Klux Klan. has denied that Mr Justice Black, who was recently appointed to the Supreme Court, is at present a member of the 5 organisation. Evans also denies the existence of any life membership in •the Klan. THE PRESIDENT ANNOYED NEW YORK. September 15. The Washington correspondent of the New York “Times’* says: Tt is known that President Roosevelt is annoyed with Mr Justice Black, who wrecently appoi’Ted in the Supreme Court, and w ho is accused of being a life-member of the Ku Klux Klan. The President, when the news concerning him and the Ku Klux Klan was first disclosed, “even allowed the thought of asking him to resign, to cross bis mind.”
