With afi attendance of 600, the activities of the Hokitika Railway' Ball

the large crowd which attended, /it was hbt /possible to , continue the musical programme which had been arranged. At-the conclusion of t.he judging, -paper /hats and’ novelties were distributed amongst the children, a short dance programme following, during the sup-per-sittings.. ■ 'At the Conclusion of - the carrfival, a dance at which the Rhythm Orchestra provided the music, Continued {until mid-night. . The judging of the costumes was carried out by Mesda'nies :■ G. jPer--fy, f-Northcroft, B. Doiyell, and /B- D« Wilson, the -following being thfe sficcessful competitors in the order named: ' Open section:—Boys under -7, J. Thomas; B. Lowther/' L.
