A CENSORSHIP OVER RECENT CRISIS. (United Press Association--By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). . LONDON, August 11. Because of censorship, little information is available on the crisis which is supposed to have accounted for King Carol’s sudden return on Monday to Bucharest, after his European tour. King Carol conferred throughout the night with the Prime Minister (M. George Tatarescu), who, according to the. Vienna correspondent of the “Daily Mail,” offered his resignation. This King Carol refused to accept. The Cabinet’s position will ho determined to-day.
It is suggested that the Fascist organisation known as the Iron Guard lias consolidated its strength during King Carol’s absence.
Another story is that serious German bribery has resulted in military secrets bcinsj discovered by members of the Government.
It is also suggested that the Tron Guard is trying to curb Madame Lupescu’s influence on King Carol, who favours stronger measures, to cheek the Tron Guard’s activity. Troops are reported to be standing by ready for an emoivency.
