CAPTAINS OF TEAMS APPOINTED (Per Press Association. —Copyright* WELLINGTON, July 8. For the inter-island match and first trial match to be played at Athletic Park to-morrow, at Wellington, the following captains and deputy-captains were appointed to lead the teams: South Island: Captain, N. A. Mitchell (Southland); deputy captain, R. it. King (West Coast). North Island: Captain, L. Clothier (Hawke's Bay); deputy captain, R. M. McKenzie (Manawatu). Probables—Captain, J. L. Griffiths (Wellington); deputy captain, F. H. F. Smitli (Wellington). Possibles —Captain, IE A. Killeen (Auckland); deputy captain, F. J. Green (Otago).

Both matches on Saturday will bo played in 45-minute spells, and replacement of injured players will be allowed.
