ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. (Pei Press Association—Copyright). 'CHRISTCHURCH, July 7. At Addington market to-day the fat cattle entry was 510, compared with 500. Few good cattle were for-' ward, the bulk of the entry being ordinary and indifferent sorts. The market opened firmly, and improved about 10s a head on the previous week on good cattle. Indifferent classes were about the same as a week ago. Best beef sold at 33s per lOOlbs. Extra prime heavy steers fetched £l7 17s kl, prime heavy steers £l3 to £l4 15sprime medium steers £l2 to £l3 ss; or linary £lO to £ll ss; light £9 10s. Prime heifers sold from £8 5s to £9 10s; medium heifers £6 5s to £7 15s; light heifers from £6. Extra prime cows fetched £l2 2s fid • prime cows £6 10s to £8; medium cows £4 15s to £5 15s; light cows from £4 10s. For veal there was a dragging sale, : except for good calves and runners of which the entry was small. Good runners sold to £6 6s.

The average price per lb. was 6RI to fiijd. Bacon ?rs fetched 54s fid to £3 4s fid, heavy baconers £3 os fid to £3 9s fid, extra heavy bacon £4 6s fid to £4 19s Cd. The average price was fid to Cjd. The store pigs entry was fairly large. Competition was keen, but at slightly less rates. Weaners were easier by 2s to 3s. Weaners fetched 7s fid to 10s, good weaners 11s to 13s, i slips 15s to lfis fid, stores 17s to 375. DUNEDIN WOOL SALE. DUNEDIN, July 7. There was a decline in the prices o' erutchings at to-day’s wintei woo 1 sale, values being 2d to 2|d down on those ruling at the April sale, and Id to lj-d on yesterday’s Wellington sale. A small quantity of fleece wool and oddments was included in the catalogue, hut not snSclent on which to base reliable quotations. Good erutchings realised from 13R1 to 14^d: average lines I2d to 13d • seedy lOd to lid; and very seedy and infer‘or Od to lOd.
