SHOW REPORT
UGLIEST MAN PRIZE. (Per Press Association—Copyright). WHANGAREJ, July 8. At the Whangarei winter exhibition last night, Stan Gribble won the doubtful honour of being the ugliest man in the North Island. Although there weTe four finalists, Qribble won easily. The competition of finding the ugliest man in the North Island was one of the most popular features staged during the exhibition. Although there were one hundred and thirtythree nominations, many jibbed, only fifty being brave enough to face the judges. The exhibition concluded last night after .an extended season of three days owing to abnormal weather last week. The president, Air H. W. James, expressed the executive’s pleasure at the support given the show, despite the weather conditions.
