WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT RIMU. A very pleasing function took place at Rimu Library, when members met, to say goodbye, to their ex-president, Mrs Olson, who with the family is leaving next wek for Palmerston North. Mr, s J. Kelly (president), in a few well chosen words ) expressed regret- at losing such a good member, wished her die best of luck, and asked her to accept a crystal vase as a small token of remembrance, also a cup, saucer and plate to Verna, and silver rattle for the baby. Mrs Jmvood endorsed the remarks. Mrs Olson suitably responded.
The July meeting was then continued. “Roll call” being improvement in our district, was very well responded to. For articles made from a flour bag, the judges, Misses William* and Redder, having a difficult task, awarded first equal to Mesdames L. L. Rasmussen, third to Mrs Surgenor. fourth to Mr T. Wells. A hearty vote of thank.s was extended to the judges. Mi's T. Wells very kindly demonstrated wool roses. Arrangements were in hand for the W.I. ball on July 23, to be held at Woodstock. A very nice afternoon tea, served by hostesses, Mesdames W. O’Connor and L. Rasmussen followed by singing, “For She’s a Jolly “nod bellow” and “Auld Lang Syne” brought a most enjoyable afternodii to a close.
