LUCKY ESCAPE
FROM FALL OF EARTH. (Per Press Association—Copyright; AUCKLAND, June 10. Buried under three tons of scoria and trapped in the cabin of his lorry, Leonard Hunter- had an amazing escape this morning when a sudden landslide overwhelmed him in scoria in a quarry at Mount Roskill. Two eomoanions, William Fennessey and If. Ingham, were almost swept to their death as the landscape rushed down the steep face. None were seriously injured. The lorry driver lay buried for over an hour, but did not suffer even a cut. Fennessey who started to'Hide with the fall and was pulled out of danger by Ingham was struck by some rubble and he was taken to hospital suffering from shock and abrasions.
