WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
HOKITIKA MEETING x At the Hokitika Women’s Institute held on Monday evening in the Hall, Mrs R. Paterson presided over a very large-attendance of. members and five new members were welcomed. Further arrangements were made in connection with the forthcoming drama festival which is to be held on Tuesday, 29th June. The time of commencement is fixed at / .30 o’clock as seven plays are entered. A very fine lecture on “Cure of the Teeth” was given by Miss J. Spiers, dental nurse and was much appreciated.
Mrs Appleton demonstrated pewter work and this proved most interesting. The ten minute programme was arranged by Mesdames R. Collett R. Milieu, Mitchell and Miss P. Maunder. This took the form of a mock court. A dainty supper was served by the hostesses. Mesdames Collett, Milieu, Mitchell. Gosling and Misses H. Perry and P.Maunder,
