BUTTER BOXES
RED PINE TO REPLACE WHITE. (Per Press Association.—Copyright). AUCKLAND, May 18. An indication that before long Rime butter boxes would be introduced to replace the present white pine contain ers for export, was given by Hon W. Lee Martin, Minister of Marketing. He made the statement in answering criticism about the price of butter boxes which was expressed at the annual conference of the Auckland province of the New Zealand, Farmers’ Union. The Minister said that the past year’s operations had proved a valuably experiment and that less difficulty in the industry was anticipated this season, when cheaper butter boxes would be available., . ’ y ' Already, said Mr Lee Martin. >. prc : parations were being made to provide the timber and the proper facilities?‘for the manufacturing of boxes in the. incoming season. “The ’ boxes will he very much cheaper than they have been,” he add 1 ed, “as we are seeking to have them manufactured continuously through out the year, so That there will always be a plentiful supply when it is required.”
