REMOVAL OF EMBARGO. DUNEDIN, May 19. The Chamber of Commerce passed a resolution that, “The Chamber advocates the removal of the embargo on Australian oranges, since if the original object of the embargo was to bargain for reciprocal trade particularly in potatoes, which as a bargaining weapon, it has failed entirely. It retention, therefore, is no longer justified, particularly as it jeopardises the health of the community.” TRAFFIC CONTROL AUCKLAND, May 19. Traffic officers mounted on fast motorcycles, in future will continuously patrol important roads in Auckland suburbs, if the City Council approves at a meeting to-morrow of a recommendation of the Chief Traffic Officer, Cecil 'Bland, that provision be made on the current year’s estimates for the purchase of two motor cycles for traffic control.
