WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. The weekly meeting of the Manage ment Committee of the West, Coast Rugby Union was held at Greyinouth last evening. It was decided that /Messrs N. Eggleton and C. H. Hoskin be nominated as referees for inter-provincial mat ches. It was decided that jt be a reeom mendation t'o the insurance committee that referees come under the scope of the insurance scheme. It was decided to advise the West land Referees’ Association that Sun . day week would a suitable date for a conference -with the local Referees’ Association. The New Zealand Union asked for provisional nomination for S.uth Islm.! trials, and the matter was referred to the selectors. The Railway Department advised that it would run its own excursion trains to Christchurch on September 4 for the test match, Springbok v. New Zealand., It was decided to write to Ross Club pointing out the position of players from South Westland, and that if resi dential qualifications were not in order that the rules of the game would be enforced. It was decided to ask for an explanation as to the players concerned from the Ross Club and the South Westland Sub-Union. One application for reinstatement was received, and is to be forwarded to the New Zealand Union with a favourable recommendation that it be granted'.
