NEW COINAGE
COUNTERFEIT CROWNS. (Australian Press Association.) MELBOURNE, May 16. It i s reported that advantage is being taken of the issue of the new and unfamiliar coin by the circulation of spurious Crowns in various States of Australia. A Royal Mint official suites that the spurious coins, which have hitherto been detected can be easily distinguished by the weight and their rough finish.
