.A fine, of £25 and costs \v,as imposed on Daniel Francis Hector McDonald, a tailor, 29 years .of age, who pleaded guilty in' the Magistrate’s Court this morning to a charge of keeping a common gaming house., Chief Detective Dunlop said that McDonald was arrested . ,at *me o’clock yesterday afternoon, At the time of his arrest he was taking bets on trots being run at Addington. While the detectives were on the premises, the Chief Detective added, about half a dozen telephone calls were received. The amount of bets taken by McDonald during the morniing was approximatel|;Sjß2o. He had 'been carrying on for yabout three months.: The bets ranged from £1 down to ,2s. 6d. . .
