COLOURFUL LONDON PAGEANT,

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright).

(Received this day at 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 9

V It was a colourful pagent of the British army and navy throughout the centuries, succeeded by an impressive display of present day services. The crowd! seemed awed by the mechanical grimness of modern warfare.

One mighty tank a terrifying monster of steel* tore up the bitumen road as it lumbered along.

"-Though the object of the show was undoubtedly to focus attention to the Government’s defence programme, large sections of the crowd appeared to find ■it powerful propaganda for peace.
