•Pobceetliugs opened with the TnstiMrs Bassett judged the needlework and Mrs 11. Bradley wash awarded first prize, with a lycely worked cushion ainl Mrs Hewlett Second prize; with an oilcloth kitchen' tidy-tidy and accessories. ';"s£■

* .A varied programe was carried oht consisting of songs, glees and a mime by Hokitika members. Also numerous gif.es.sing competitions and a lucky spot waltz The latter was won by Mrs Paterson aud partner." The former ®’also gave a brief resume of "her trip to the Dunedin conference. This proved most interesting and- inspir-,, ing, and the president, Mrs 'Bradley,< returned thanks for the instructive talu.

A table of handcrafts and a bring and buy stall were in evidence. Afternoon tea was freely dispensed and, Mrs Bassett returned thanks for the' hospitality received. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought ; a pleasant afternoon to a close.
