The output of shipbuilding in 1935-36 was greater that in the last four years, and there is evidence that the activity will continue indefinitely, according to the annual report of Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. “The amount of laid-up tonnage has been .Winced from 12,000,000 three years ago to 4.500,000,” says the report. “This is largely due to the breaking up of surplus ships.
