AGAINST CITY COUNCELLOR ST ATBMEN T WITH DRAWN (Per Press Association—Copyright). PALMERSTON NORTH, Oct. 6. A statement was made by Councillor W. B. Tennent that it was not his .intention to proceed further with any contemplated proceedings which ‘he announced at a recent meeting of- the City Council he was issuing' against Councillor ,T. Hodgens, M.P.V hf consequence of a reference to Teiinont contained in a telegram which.. Hodgens forwarded to the Council three weeks ago. Cr. Tennent to-day said though' he considered the proper place for Cr. Hodgens to make the withdrawal of the statement was the council tabloj lie understood from people who attended the public meeting in the Opera House on September 19 that Cr Hodgens there made the necessary withdrawal. Cr. Tennent now regards the matter as closed.
