CARTRIDGE IN FIRE. WHANGAREI, June 10. < Severe injuries to the right eye were receivd hy Mr George Simpson, aged 65, of llukerenui, when a pea-rifio cartridge, which had been swept into the fireplace, exploded when the fire was lit. Mr Simpson was taken to the Whangarei Hospital.
