Miss May Davidson, formerly of Kumara, is in Hokitika visiting Mrs Covvie, of Stafford Street.
Miss K. Fester, a former Hokitika resident and now of Christchurch, arrived at Hokitika on Saturday evening on a holiday visit.
Mr W. D. Nolan, of Okuru, who has been on a business trip to Sydney, returned on Saturday, and proceeded south by . the aerial service to-day;
Mr C. J. Strongman, Inspector of Mines at Greymouth, has been.'appointed to succeed Mr I. A. James, as superintendent of State Mines. Mr James will retire at a early date on superannuation.
Bishop West Watson who has been visiting South Westland, returned yesterday via Harihari, and preacned to a large congregation at All Saints’ Church last evening. His Lordship, who, was accompanied by Miss WestWatson returned to Christ dhurch today.
