DELEGATES REPORT

HAMILTON, May 4

The directors of. the South Auckland Dairy Company, after receiving the reports of the delegates avTio attended, the recent Avard conference in Wellington, carried the folloAving resolutions':

“This meeting , consider that when costs are being determined the difference between the price level of the. country in Avihich our produce is marketed and the’ price level in Ncav Zealand should be taken into consideration.

“That as dairy produce is being bought 'by the Marketing Department the prices under section 19 of the bill should be fixed by independent authority. “That the annual report to Parliament, requested by section 13, ihould contain a detailed, statement as to how the prices of dairy produce were arrived at, and also the value that was given to the various items to be taken. into consideration in arriving at" tlhe final result-'.in terms of 'section 19,. “That this conference is of the opinion that the following alteration should be made to the Primary Products Marketing Bill, section 19: That in arriving at the (joists involved in the efficient production of dairy produce, there shall >e taken into account (a) a return to the farmer oil his capital investment in his business, commensurate with the returns obtained in business enterprises generally in ‘New Zealand; (b) the difference, between the price level in the country in'which such dairy produce is marketed and the price level in New Zealandi”
