ACTOR’S VENTURE
■FROM STAGE TO RACING
LONDON, December 7
In London Bankruptcy Buildings recently the statutory first meeting or creditors was held of Mr Solomon Lancelot Inglis Watson, actor, professionally known as Lance Lister, who presented his petition on October 15. Mr C. Bruce Park, official receiver, said Mr Watson had stated that he lirst became associated with the stage at the age of 15. In 1932, in partnership, he began a theatrical agency in Green Street, but it was unsuccessful. Three months ago, in conjunction with a friend, lie attended race meetings and “made a book.” They lost £IOOO, the whole of which was paid by his friend, to whom his (Mr AVatson’s) share of the loss was now owing. The statement of Mr AVatson’s affairs showed liabilities £1874 and no assets.
The case was left in the hands of the official receiver as trustee in bankruptcy.
