COMPLAINT REGARDING PAPERS

Complaints regarding some of the papers set in the. recent Matriculation examination were referred to Dr C. HUttloy (Rector of Southland Boy's High School) and Miss A. Eastwood (Lady Principal of the Girls’ High School), who expressed general agreement, with the criticism, which, in certain respects, was stated to bo quite
justified. Referring to the English paper. Dr Uttley said that some of the questions set in the paper would have caused graduate’s considerable difficulty. The actual framing of one question was faulty, and in itself demanded too much of a secondary school "pupil.
