Whilst erecting standards for a new installation at Schaef’s Ltd., Mackay Street, Grey mouth, yesterday afternoon, Mr J. Jones, of Christchurch-, who weighs 17 stone, was in the act of taking a step from one beam to another on top of the ceiling, when his foot became entangled in a piece of wire. He immediately fell head-first through the wall-board ceiling, anti fortunately landed on his feet uninjured, after a drop of nearly 12 feet.

Referring to the license of Murphy’s Hotel, Ivumara, the chairman of the Westland Licensing Committee (Mir Hi Morgan) at to-day’s meeting, said the '.licence had been convicted m May last for permitting an unlicensed person to conduct the hotel, but apparently "the position had not yet been remedied. Either he would have to conduct his own license, or he would have to have it transferred.
