Leaping from the boat deck of the Monterey, a. young woman stowaway, Phyllis Elbon, was drowned. The Monterey was : off Gaby Island, .on. route to Melbourne from Sydney. Miss Elbon was discovered aboard soon. after the vessel left Melbourne. The body was not recovered. The body of James Tay]oi\ aged t#Cnty-two. a porter on Die Monterey, who was missing from the ship sine,& Sunday, was found near the pier at Melbourne yesterday.
