AUSTRALIAN BIG-GAME FISHING SYDNEY, July 10. The Chief Secretary of New South Wales, Mr Chaffer, addressing members of the big ganfe section of the New South Wales Rod Fishers’ Society, said that the society was doing a national service. It had done much to demonstrate the possibilities of Australian waters, for big-game fishing, and had helped to attract desirable visitors from overseas.

Referring to the new Fisheries Bill, Mr Chaffey' said that the old law was clumsy, futile and, in many respects stupid. He expected that tho new hill which should become law within the next 12 months, would be equitable and practicable. He hoped that v.ith the application of proper regulations trout fishing in Australia would become a premier sport. The president, Dr A. J. Spiller Brandon said the Society was a viiiie body, and was doing much for the ,advancement of the sport in Australia.
