EVERYBODY’S PICTURES TO-NIGHT. TO-NIGHT “COME ON MARINES!” Tropical nights, stranded beauties, bandit-lighting marines turned into chaperones, budding Jove in the jungles: All intermingled with laughs and action make Paramounts “Come On Marines!” which opens to-night at the Princess Theatre, •exeenional entertainment.

The story, which deals with a Murine sergeant’s redemption through his heroic rescue of a group of girls shipwrecked in the tropic, oft’ers an excellent vehicle for a large cast of players who give splendid portrayals. Richard Ariel i, as the sergeant,. Ida Lupino, young English Actress who plays the role of ahead strong, spoiled darling of the rich; Roseoe Karns as a wise-cracking, laugh-provoking Marine; Grace Bradley, as a sensational cabaret dancer, all these give performances that make the picture as gripping as it is humourous. They are ably supported by Monte Blue, Toby Wing, Fuzzy Knight,, Kit Guard, Virginia Hammond, and Edmund Breesc. Henry Hathaway’s direction keeps the suspense and comedy properly balanced, and Ben Reyolds’ photography of the difficult jungle shots is xceptional. The movie fan, young or old, who likes laughs and thrills, presented in a plausible, convincing manner, . will enjoy “Come On Marines!”. It hasn’t one dull moment.

“BLOSSOM TIME.” On Monday and Tuesday at the Princess Theatre, Richard Tauber will appear at Schubert, in a miracle of fragrant melody and romance—“ Blossom Time.” The beautiful romance of the immortal Schubert, whose jnusic for one hundred years has been the language of lovers, now achieves new loveliness as the glorious voice of Tauber brings to the screen the fragrant melody and impassioned beauty of this music which will never die. Tauber’s singing is entirely in English.
