PENSION SYSTEM
COMMENT BY MINISTER (l'er Bress Association, Copyright) WELLINGTON, July 12. If is understood that the Government lias had heloro it recently proposals aimed at bettering the position of a number of pensioners in New Zealand. The Minister of Vciisions. Air Coblie has had an investigation made of the possibility of adopting some system of invalidity pensions. The results of this investigation have been placed before Cabinet.
It is also stated that there is the possibility of steps being taken to remove some of the existing .anomalies in connection with pensions for returned soldiers.
Questioned about- the Government’s intentions to-dav. Air Coblie said that the whole matter was one for Cabinet decision, and he was not at liberty to make any statement. The Government’s intentions would be revealed in due course, he said,
