TRIO DECLARED HA RITUALS WELLINGTON SENTENCES TO-DAY (Per Press AsrH;iaMon.— Copyright.) WELLINGTON,, July 11Three criminals with lengthy records were declared by the Chief Justice (Sh Michael Myres) to be habituals. Two of them, Roy Gorge C l 'ddy, and Charles King, appeared for sentence on charges of theft at Hawera and New Plymouth. In addition to having served numerous sentences m Kc"Zealand, they had had records in England.
The third was John Thompson, who appeared for sentence for breaking and entering, and theft at Petone. He had a list dating from 1924. The sentences in each case were two years’ hard.
Other prisoners sentenced were : Geoffrey Conrad Spen ( ‘o, theft from dwelling at Raetehi, two years’ probation. William Te Aloananui, breaking and entering, and theft at Wairoa, eight een, months’ reformative. Samuel Smith, breaking and entering, and theft at Napier, 18 months’ reformative. Ronald Scott Barker, five charges of breaking and entering, and theft at Hastings, four year’ reformative. Jim Davis, aged 20, theft at New Plymouth, two years’ borstal.
