Mr Tom Smith said : “For days before Cabinet was announced, there were rumours that one of the prices Mr Ramsay MacDonald was demanding in the reconstruction was a post lor bis son-, Mr Baldwin replied: “It is not true.” He added the post- of Lord President, taken hv Mr Ramsay MacDonald, was one of the highest in the country.
