ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. (Per Press Association,, Copyright) CHRISTCHURCH, July 10. With lesser yardings in some lines, prices of live stock at to-day's Addington sale showed an upward tendency. There was a small supply of fat lambs, these being nondescript lots. There was keen competition for prime butchers’ grades, of which there was a distinct scarcity. Best heavy-prime lambs sold to 27/10, prime heavy 22/6 to 25/-, medium 17/- to 22/-, light from 15/-. The fat sheep offering was more numerous tliis week, owiiig to the scarcity at the previous sale. The competition was keen throughout, with values a shade firmer. , There was a very light yarding et store sheep, with keen competition in all grades. There was a smaller yarding of beef, in which quality was lacking. With only a few consignments of first grade beef the market was firmer to the extent of from 20/- to 25/- per head. Values per hundred pounds are: Prime heavy steers 20/- to 23/-, prime handyweights 23 1- to 25/-, medium and light from 19/-. Best prime heifers to 24/-, prime 20/- to 22/-, medium from 19/-. best cows 20/- to 22/-, prime 16/- to 18/-, medium to 16/-, inferior from 14/-. There was a light offering of fat pigs. Many unfinished porkers were yarded. Baeoners were easier, and porkers sold at late rates. Average porkers fetched from 23/6 to 30/-, heavier 33/6 to 38/6: extra heavy to 42/6 Baeoners fetched 44/6 to 50/-, heavy 52/6 to 65/-, extra to £3/17/6.

U S. LOAN ISSUE. WASHINGTON, July 9. The Treasury’s 500 million dollars note issue offered on 'Saturday was stated by Treasury officials to have been over-subscribed five times. Tt comprises one and three-eigliths per cent, four years and five-year Treasury notes. The hooks have closed.
