There are indications that the protracted mpafc discussions are nearing finality, and the prospects of the set; isfaetory settlement are distinctly favourableThe negotiations have been arduous for all concerned, but there ,is no doubt that the thorough exploration of the whole position has cleared up many misunderstandings and misconceptions, and has paved the way for greater economic unity within the Empire. . .
Since the departure of the Hon GW. Forbes, the Hon J,. G. Coates has been carrying oil the discussions with Ministers and officials almost continuously and he has also been cohductiifg negotiations with British industrialists and representatives of both Empire and foreign countries.
