CHINESE UPROAR
AGAINST JAPAN SEQUEL TO COURT DECISION (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). . (Received this day at 10. 30 a.m.) SHANGHAI, July 9. . The announcement that fourteen months’ imprisonment had been imposed on the editor of '‘New Life” for an article which was objected to Iby Japan, aroused an urpoar at the Kiangsu High Court. The defending counsel banged the table and shouted: “China’s law has been conquered by Japan!” The whole of the spectators stood up, shouting : “Down with the Nanking Government and Japanese Imperialists!”
