CARROLL DEFEATS NEGRO. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 9.30 a.in.) SYDNEY, July 8. . At the Stadium, Jack Carroll (lOst. 71b.), outpointed the negro, Tommy Jones, of the United States (lOst. /lb.), in fifteen rounds. Both engaged in hard punching, but Carroll out-generalled lifs less experienced eighteen-year-old opponent, who was , making his first appearance in Australia.
