WELLINGTON GALE
COASTAL BOATS SHELTERING. (Per Press Association, Copyright). WELLINGTON, July 8. The fierce southerly gale continues unabated. A number of coastal ships, being late in arriving, are presumably sheltering. The tanker, New Zealand from Auckland, due early to-day, Las not arrived yet. The collier Canopus from Westport, wirelessed she was sheltering behind Long Island. The storm has done only minor damage locally, fences and telephone wires being down in some localities.
