WEDDING

COLLYER —THOMPSON. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hokitika, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday, the contracting parties being Florence Margaret, youngest daughter of Mrs H. Thompson, and Charles Rees, eldest son of Air and Mrs Collyer. The ceremony was performed by Rev. L. Dewar of Ross, with Mr. R. Tennent presiding at the organ. The church was beautifully decorated .with birch and spring flowers.

The bride, who was given away by her twin brother, Mr Harry Thompson, wore a trained gown of simple grace, modelled in ivory ring velvet, fitting the figure and flaring at the hem. the neck and long sleeves being softly conk'd. A beautiful tud’e veil was held in place with a circlet of orange blossom buds, ami she carried a trailing sheaf of hot-housc flowers. The bridesmaids, intimate friends of the bride, were Miss Lina Smith of Christchurch, and Miss Florrie Evans ot Hokitika. The former wore a trained frock of dusky pink panne velvet, draped in cowled folds at the neck, and caught to the waist at the back with a soft bow. The circular sleeves were lined with glacier bßie, and touches of this shade were mixed in her dainty pink posy. Miss Evans wore a frock of glacier blue panne velvet, made on similar lines, her sleeves being lined in pink and touches of pink wore in her pretty blue posy. Both wore dainty caplets of velvet flowers to match their frocks. Mr M. Connolly and Mr D. Nicholson acted as best man and groomsman respectively. At a reception held later at Preston’s Tea rooms, the guests wore received by Mrs Thompson and Mrs Collver. When the happy' couple left later by car on their wedding tour, Ho bride wore a smart blue woven frock, " 1 1h fnr-timmed coat and hat to tone.
