IN ARGENTINE
IMPROVED TRADE LARGE BRITISH IMPORTS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright). (Received tins day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, June 20. A definite improvement in economic conditions in Argentina is indicated in a report by the Commercial Counsellor to the British Embassy at Buenos Aires to the Department of Overseas Trade, says 1934 marked the Republic’s emergence from the trough of depression in which it was engulfed since the collapse of the world’s economic structure. A steady effort by both the Government and people has at least begun to show positive resultc. During the year to June 30, 1934, United Kingdom exports to Argentina increased by a million and a, half sterling, over the corresponding period of 1932-33. It is hoped there will be a further increase in Argentine purchases from United Kingdom, in 1935.
