HARBOUR STORM
CONDITIONS AT AUCKLAND. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) AUCKLAND, June 25. r Phe scow Torea and a motor-launch from the cable ship Recorder, were torn from their moorings jin Waitemnta Harbour by a high wind which swept over Auckland to-day, and both craft were washed ashore. They were recovered without having suffered damage. The Wind, which blew from the west, came at times in squalls of gale force, and it was accompanied by frequent heavy showers. The conditions on the harbour were very rough, fishing launches were off the coast Many units of Auckland’s fleet of and out towards Great Barrier Island when the wind sprang up, and news was received that some offtliem had taken shelter. It was intended that the Recorder should sail for Norfolk Island to .repair the Pacific eabfe in that locality, but owing to the rough seas, i< was not possible to unshackle the vessel’s mooring cables from the buoy. As a -.result her sailing was postponed until to-morrow. The rain was accompanied by hail, and it marked the 21st day daring this month on which rain had fallen here.
