Just when pastorabsts were losing hope of saving any flocks which were being depleted to.an alarming extent, rain began to fall ill drought-stricken areas and was continuing at midnight.
HEAVY RAIN AT WAIROA
WAIROA, June 7
Heavy rain was again experienced during the last two days, a total of 4.28 inches being recorded. The fiver is in high hood, The southern highway to Napier as been blocked, but tile slips will probably 'be cleared today. ,The highway to Gisborne is open to traffic.
