Advice has IlFmi received here that the Formosan police arrested two Ameiicans aml one Germain, named Gates, Wi'ede and Roubin respectively, on a charge 5.4 violating the Shippijng Act, and also entering a fortified zone without authority. The trio left Shanghai recently li a small sailing boat for a long cruise touching at Philippines, New Guinea and possibily Australia, and evn'ntiuilly proceeding to Cocos Island to salvage alleged gold cargo said to be sunk there. The Formosan authorities, however, claim that the Americans are really naval officers, caught photographing a fortified zone.
