(United Trees Association--By Electric

LITTLE AMERICA, January 21. The “Bear of Oakland” arrived here yesterday, bringing the much-welcomed mail to the expedition. She is now moored alongside the ice, seven miles from the camp. The reloading for her return voyage is already under way. On the vessel’s 450 miles sail along the front of the Ross Ice Barrier, from Cape Crozier, Captain English made an extraordinary discovery. It is that the Great Barrier moves half a mile yearly for nearly the whole of ‘its winding length. It is now about twelve miles northward Irom the position as fixed during the Terra- Nova survey in the year 1911.
As the Bear of Oakland appeared in sight, a blast of dynamite was exploded in welcome .
