BARTLESVILLE ,Oklahoma) Dec. 7. The airman; Wiley Post, made a second hop towards the stratosphere in his remodelled monoplane, “Winnie. Mae,’’ and ho landed later with the belief that he had sot -a new altitude secord, around the fiitv-fivo thousand feet level.
“I went higher than I did last Monday by five thousand to seven thousand feet,” Post said, after bringing his plane to a perfect landing down the wind with a dead stick. An examination <>i Posts barographs after his (light last Monday, indicated that he reached a height of fifty thousand feet.
Post estimated his net airspeed at the peak of his flight as from 350 to 375 miles an hour.
