Entries for the carnival sports meeting close on- Wednesday next, for tlie principal events. There is an attractive programme, and a good entry is 'anticipated. The Railway,Department is making special train arrangements for the Jubilee period. A late train will return to Greymouth o n Boxing night at 10.15, and late ’ trains' are being arranged for the night of the fire- . works. The R.S.A. branch at RoSs has asked for facilities -for a large party from the south to visit Hokitika on the occasion; of the aerial display and remain 1 tte for tlie fireworks at night. Good entries have been received by the Westland Racing Club for the Ju-''** bilee race meeting, and that function should be an outstanding event- of the week.
