H. O’Halloran, of Gisborne, has been transferred to take charge of the Timaru district, to replace Superintendent Bird wlio shortly retires on superannuation. Sub-Inspector G. B. Edwards, of Auckland, has been promoted to ’the rank, of Inspector A,'and 'will remain in Auckland for:the time being. 'A Chief-Detective' ,;Jd 'Carroll has been promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspec-tor, And will iremaih in charge of the Detective Office at' -Wellington. Constable L.
