NAZI PROPAGANDA

Dll GOEBBELS "ON THE AIll”. LONDON, Juno G. Those who tuned in To the German Broadcasting Company’s programme a lew nights ago were able to listen to a speech by Dr Goebbels, German Minister of Propoganda, which was translated into the princial languages of the world. Similar speeches are to he made every Friday night by some prominent Nazi. Dr Goebbels began by paying a remarkable tribute to the German working man. That the Nazi Government had succeeded in the past twelve months in reducing unemployment by 60 per cent, lie said, was largely duo to the unparaldled self-sacrificing heroism of the German workman, who had accepted a wage hardly above tile subsistence level in order that as many as possible might share in whatever work was available.

Dr Goebbels spoke sternly of the producers and capitalists who-, he said, had made no sacrifices, while their profits and dividends had increased. Herr Hitler had already warned them. They were warned again that night. Dr Goebbels hinted at coming legislation i which would further readjust the rej lations between capital and labour. He j also spoke on disarmament and said ! that Germany was ready to co-operate in any scheme for disarmament based on tho principle of equality. Germany’s wish was to work for bread at home, and honour, freedom and equality abroad. Referring to the Roman Catholics Press, the speaker said that certain newspapers which, before the revolution, had done little or nothing to “rid the country of the class war” wore now endangering the peace of the community by reviving religions differences. They should let every man find happiness in liis own fashion, lie added, instead of accusing tho National Socialists of “heathenism.” They alone had saved the Church from Bolshevism.
