ANTHRAX CASE
INFECTION IN NEW SOUTH WALES.

(Received this dav at 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 3. About fourteen days ago, while hand-
ling wool at the Botany Bay scouring works, Walter Cooper, aged 24, scratched hi s left arm, and a small eruption appeared. Some hours later he became ill and slightly delirious. The eruption had become an ulcer, and Cooper contracted anthrax. He is now in hospital recovering, after injections of anti-anthrax serum. Tlie Minister of Health (Mr Weaver) is having regulations- framed to lessen the dangers to workers among articles which may cause anthrax.
